Covid-19 has a significant impact on our Rotuman families living in the Nadi and Lautoka areas. Most of them have either been employed by the Tourism and Hotel Industry or by our National airline “Fiji Airways”. With the measures put forward by the Government to control the spread of this coronavirus, our boarders were closed temporarily. All our Rotuman people that were employed by these two industries were either laid off or reduced the working hours to minimum.
FRA has reached out to the Rotuman families impacted whilst the country faces such pandemic catastrophe. Therefore, FRA has established a F$10K Covid-19 Assistance Funds to assist all the Rotuman families that have been affected.
Further information and guidance on the Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund is below: –
- Affected families with no one working in the family, $20.00 per head and maximum of $100.00 per family.
- Affected families with only one working in the family, $20.00 per head and maximum of $100.00 per family.
